Just like humans, cats can change their taste in food over the years, an animal nutrition expert has stressed.
While a feline might once have been happy with dry food, over time the animal could change their tastes and start to enjoy food from the human table.
But if you possible you should keep feeding your cats specially formulated pet food. A leading US vet has explained that, although tastes can change, animals should stick to cat foods which have all the nutrients they need.
She added that the “safest” food for a feline is one created specifically for the animal’s needs.
Giving food from the human table to your pet can throw up a number of dangers – bones can become a choke risk, while the fat content of some items can trigger a variety of intestinal problems.
So it’s important to avoid the temptation of treating your animal some of your own food – it won’t do them any good in the long run.
